Charities

As I have progressed through my cancer journey, I have engaged with a number of organisations that have provided much support to me and to others in a similar position to myself.  The organisations that reached out to me include the Myeloma Australia and the Leukaemia Foundation.  Select the links below to learn more about these worthwhile organisations and consider how you can support them.

Other organisations that I strongly advocate for are the Australian Red Cross Blood Service and the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR).  These organisations need to be supported so they can continue their vital service.

If you want to save a life, register to be a Stem Cell Donor.  A few fast facts about stem cell donations;

  • Approximately 70% of patients rely on finding a donor through the stem cell registry.
  • Only one in 1500 people who register to be a stem cell donor are matched to a person in need.
  • More stem cell donors are desperately needed.
  • The process of donating stem cells isn’t overly painful or time consuming.  However, this small gesture can literally save a life.
